The New York State Caregiving & Respite Coalition (NYSCRC) is a dedicated hub for caregivers and respite care providers across New York State. We connect those who care for loved ones with the tools, resources, and support they need to navigate the caregiving journey.

Why Join the NYSCRC Resource Network?

As a caregiver support provider, your work is vital. By sharing your resource with NYSCRC, you can:

  • Expand Your Reach: Connect with caregivers and families statewide who are actively seeking help.
  • Build Community Connections: Partner with a coalition dedicated to improving the lives of caregivers.
  • Make a Greater Impact: Ensure your services are easily accessible to those who need them most.

What Does NYSCRC Do?

Empowers Caregivers: Through advocacy, education, and resource-sharing, we champion the needs of caregivers across New York.

  • Provides Respite Solutions: We help families find crucial respite services, giving caregivers time to recharge and focus on self-care.
  • Strengthens Networks: By uniting service providers, we amplify the reach and effectiveness of caregiving solutions.

Help us build a stronger caregiving community and make a difference in the lives of New York families.

What Is Respite Care?

Respite care provides short-term relief for primary caregivers, giving them time to rest, travel, or spend time with other family and friends. The care may last anywhere from a few hours to several weeks at a time. Respite care can take place at home, in a health care facility, or at an adult day care center.

Matching service registries are online platforms that help home care consumers and workers find one another. They vary in structure, but in all cases, matching service registries are designed to enable consumers to identify and contact nearby workers with the right mix of skills, experience, and availability—and enable workers to find clients and build sustainable work schedules. These registries serve a critical need: Medicaid programs that allow consumers to directly employ their own home care workers are growing in number and popularity, but self-directing consumers struggle to recruit and retain workers because of the nationwide home care workforce shortage.
