Schenectady College and Career Outreach Center (SCCOC)

Schenectady College & Career Outreach Center (SCCOC), a division of SUNY Schenectady County Community College, offers a completely free suite of education, career, and training supports to all New York State residents aged 16 and up—with no upper age limit .

What SCCOC Offers:

• College application support and financial aid guidance, including one‑on‑one assistance with FAFSA, loan default referrals, and personal help drafting resumes and cover letters.
• Career and educational advising: personalized career counseling, skills and interest assessments, academic planning, and help identifying certificate and training pathways.
• Job-placement assistance: listings of job leads and vacancies, local job fairs and on-campus employer interviews, access to the Opportunity Room (equipped computers for job search, resume writing, aid applications), and robust referrals to community resources.
• Skill enrichment workshops and participation in community and college fairs aimed at networking and exploring transferable employment options.

Located on the first floor of Center City, 433 State Street in downtown Schenectady, SCCOC has served the Capital District since November 1977, acting as a vital bridge for thousands of community members who are not currently enrolled in college but want to pursue education, training, or work opportunities.
