Sport Management A.S.

The Sport Management A.S. degree at Jamestown Community College prepares you to transfer to a bachelor’s program and pursue careers working with youth, scholastic, intercollegiate or professional athletic organizations. Popular fields include sport management, sport facility management, campus and community recreation programs, and fitness management. You can also study for careers in sport information focused on public relations, marketing, promotions, and media communication.

While at JCC, you’ll take core and elective courses to build your knowledge, skills, theory, and experiences to your specific interests in the sport industry. You can also complete an internship with a sports or athletics organization. Some of our students have interned with the local Jamestown Jammers baseball team and Jamestown Jackals basketball team, JCC’s athletic department and fitness center, Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, and Northwest Arena in Jamestown.

Sport Management A.A.S.

The Sport Management A.A.S. degree at Jamestown Community College prepares you to enter the workforce immediately after graduation and pursue careers in recreation, youth sport, athletic administration, and fitness promotion.

While at JCC, you’ll take sport-related courses and electives based on your career goals. In addition to core courses in general education and sport management, you can focus on sport media, health science, fitness, coaching, personal training, nutrition, and athletic injuries. You’ll also complete an internship in a local educational, recreational, or health setting to gain real-world experience.
