Paramedic (CERT)

This program is a partnership between Onondaga Community College and SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, for individuals who are certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT – Basic certification required prior to applying). The primary goal of the Paramedic Certificate program is to prepare the individual to become a competent entry level paramedic. The program provides a mix of theory and practicum leading to immediate employment upon successful completion of certification exam(s). People who pursue certificates might possess an advanced degree and want to acquire new skills and knowledge.

Upon successful completion of the program, the candidate is eligible for the New York State and National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certifying examinations. Credits earned during the certificate program can be applied towards an Associate’s Degree should the candidate choose to continue their paramedic education.
