Addiction Treatment Training Microcredential

The micro credential in Addiction Treatment Training Level 1 will enable students to demonstrate competency in several key areas including: outline the current approaches to prevention of alcohol and nicotine addiction, examine the signs, symptoms, and stages of the various classes of drug addiction and to explain the unique characteristics of case management in substance abuse.

This training is the first step of three trainings that allow students to get the educational requirements to become a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC). These courses can then be transferred to other addiction studies programs such as Empire State University for a bachelor’s degree in addiction studies.
