The Older Adult Rural Mental and Behavioral Health Workforce Support Program (OARS) is funded by Mother Cabrini Health Foundation (MCHF) and brought to you by the New York State Association for Rural Health (NYSARH) and Partners.

This continuing education course is designed to provide healthcare and behavioral health professionals with the knowledge and tools to better support older adults living in rural communities. This course explores the unique mental health challenges faced by older adults in rural settings, with a focus on the effects of trauma and the barriers to accessing care. Emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, participants with gain the skills to create supportive, adaptive care plans that enhance the overall quality of life for older adults facing trauma and mental health challenges in underserved rural communities.
