Join the Institute for Career Advancement in Medicine (ICAM) Career Coaching Program and help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals. Share your experience, lead a session, or mentor when you can. Every contribution makes a difference.
You don’t have to mentor 1-on-1 to make a difference. Sometimes a short story or a few words of encouragement can change a student’s path.

Ways to get involved
You don’t have to mentor one-on-one or lead a class to participate. Choose the level that fits your time, comfort, and experience. You can always move between tiers as your availability changes.
Tier 1
Inspire
Share insights, stories, or reflections that inspire future healthcare professionals.
Open to all students, alumni, professionals, and educators.
None! Ideal for first-time contributors. Just use our Inspiration Submission Form to share a written experience, tip, or video story.
Digital ICAM Inspire Badge; featured on the ICAM Coaching Wall.
Tier 2
Engage
Lead or support group experiences such as MASH Camps, workshops, or ICAM webinars.
Open to professionals, educators, or community partners with student engagement experience.
Brief online orientation or event facilitator briefing.
ICAM Coaching Certificate – Level 1; ICAM swag; stipend eligibility (2026).
Tier 3
Guide
Provide one-to-one or small-group mentoring and personalized coaching support.
Open to professionals, coaches, or AHEC staff with mentoring experience.
Short application and approval by ICAM program staff. May include a 30-min onboarding session or reference check.
ICAM Coaching Certificate – Level 2; featured profile; stipend eligibility ($50–$150/session in 2026).
Tier 4
Lead
Coordinate and train others, lead regional coaching groups, or design new mentoring initiatives.
Invitation or nomination based on leadership and prior engagement.
Completion of ICAM Leadership Orientation and recommendation from an AHEC or HWNY program lead.
ICAM Leadership in Coaching Certificate; honorarium or stipend ($200–$500/event in 2026).
As a thank you, every contributing coach gets recognized and sent ICAM swag.
