The Addiction Professionals Scholarship Program from the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) offers free tuition and training for New York Residents who want to work in addiction support, prevention, recovery, or harm reduction.
There are 3 scholarship tracks based on your background and goals:
- CASAC & CRPA Program Scholarships
- Ages 18+ with a high school diploma or HSE
- Priority for those already working in OASAS, OMH, or DOH-funded programs
- Great for those interested in becoming a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)
2. CPP Program Scholarships
- Ages 18+ with a bachelor's degree
- For future Credentialed Prevention Professionals (CPP)
- Ideal for people working in, or planning to work in, prevention and public health settings
3. CRPA "Best Practice Training" Scholarships
- High school diploma or HSE required
- Based on region, need, and lived experience
- Prioritizes: veterans, bilingual applicants, LGBTQIA+, and those with lived MAT experience
- Must commit to working (paid or volunteer) in the addiction care system after training
