During this virtual training, attendees will gain knowledge of the different types of drugs and how to recognize the signs that patients/clients may be actively using drugs and/or alcohol.

In addition, strategies to work with patients/clients who are actively using drugs and/or alcohol and express a desire to stop, as well as those who do not express a desire to stop or who may be relapsing on substance will be shared. Discussion will include the Five Stages of Change, motivational interviewing skills, changes in the addiction field from an abstinent model to a harm reduction model, what harm reduction models look like and sample dialogues to utilize in challenging situations.

This webinar is geared for care/case managers, care coordinators and peers.
