New York City is Now Eligible for Elective Surgery and Ambulatory Care
This new press release explains announcements made by Governor Cuomo as New York begins to reopen.
As New York City enters phase one of reopening, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that New York City is now eligible to resume elective surgeries and ambulatory care. The Governor previously announced that the state will allow elective outpatient treatments to resume in counties and hospitals without significant risk of COVID-19 surge in the near term.
Governor Cuomo also announced the state is opening 14 new temporary testing sites at churches located in communities particularly impacted by COVID-19, in partnership with Northwell Health and SOMOS Community Care. The state is continuing to focus efforts on reducing the infection rate of COVID-19 in New York City hotspot neighborhoods that have been impacted the most by the virus.
