Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Original Course

Rural emergency medical services (EMS) are an essential part of the healthcare system. EMS frequently provides the safety net for millions of Americans requiring assistance with their healthcare needs or experiencing a life-threatening emergency. Rural EMS is primarily provided by volunteers and paid professionals who undergo extensive training to meet the requirements of the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. This course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am till 2 pm with an occasional Saturday (9 am – 12 pm). Many health care professionals start their career in EMS. The training program provided by Clarkson University provides students with lifesaving skills that engage them in a pursuit for more healthcare knowledge. Our EMT programs require that students have many patient contact hours, which will help them prepare for other affiliated undergraduate health care programs.
